Creekside Trail

Creekside Trail

I do not feel outside
as I travel further and further
inside. Fly rod in hand, I feel
the rivers and the mountains
Are myself turned inside out.
An eerie solitude.
Heaven's kingdom is within
so say the prophets.
Serenity of the inner streams
flows freely and follows the
filtered beds of my thoughts
through permeable membranes
with Brownian motion.
The creekside trail curls back
through the fir, ends at a deep
swirling pool. my friendly fly
casts itself in silent shade .
I cast away my worldly cares.
